I'm Alive

So damn easy to say that life’s so hard
Everybody’s got their share of battle scars
As for me I’d like to thank my lucky stars that
I’m alive, and well

It’d be easy to add up all the pain
And all the dreams you sat and watched go up in flames
Dwell on the wreckage as it smolders in the rain
But not me, I’m alive

And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathing in and out's a blessing' can’t you see
Today's the first day of the rest of my life
And I’m alive, and well
I’m alive, and well

Stars are dancing on the water here tonight
It’s good for the soul, when there’s not a soul in sight
But this boat has caught its wind and brought me back to life
Now I’m alive, and well

And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathing in and out's a blessing can’t you see
Today is the first day of the rest of my life
Now I’m alive, and well
Yeah I’m alive, and well

Did you know that one of the largest unknown causes for many people regarding neck, shoulder, and back pain is based on our posture? It is something we rarely think about, but could be changed in just an instant if we can stop and realize what we are doing. Sitting and standing up straight can help us in several ways, including reducing stress from our bodies.

Stress is any mental or physical strain on the body. Most people do not know that their posture could directly be causing stress in their body. Continually slouching can cause pain in the upper body in the neck, back, and shoulders. Another problem caused by poor posture is strained breathing. Most don't even realize, but when we are slouched forward then we are actually compressing our organs and it actually makes them work harder in order to function. Putting that added stress on our organs adds up quick. Our heart and lungs will thank us when we choose to correct our posture. You can even feel the difference breathing when you choose to keep the body posture straight.

Most importantly, we do not need any added stress to our bodies. There is already enough stress in our world that we must deal with. Our posture is one thing we can easily change just by taking notice of our own body. If we choose to pay attention how we are sitting and standing then we are choosing more or less stress. Don't be lazy. Take control. Sit up straight and breathe deeply. Feel the difference and respect your body.

Good Morning Beautiful

Good morning beautiful
how was your night?
mine was wonderful
with you by my side
and when I open my eyes
and see your sweet face
its a good morning beautiful day

I couldn't see the light
I didn't know day from night
I had no reason to care
since you came along
I can face the dawn
cause i know you'll be there

Good morning beautiful
how was your night
mine was wonderful
with you by my side
and when I open my eyes
and see your sweet face
it's a good morning beautiful day

I never worry
if its raining outside
cause in here with you girl
the sun always shines

Good morning beautiful
how was your night
mine was wonderful
with you by my side
and when I open my eyes
and see your sweet face
its a good morning beautiful day
Good morning beautiful day

good morning beautiful
its a beautiful day
good morning beautiful
good morning
good morning beautiful
what a beautiful day
good morning beautiful

The Journey is the Destination

"When it comes to being happy, the journey is the destination."

"Chicken Soup for the Soul - 101 Inspirational Stories about Finding Your Purpose, Passion, and Joy." by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen & Amy Newmark

Life is meant to be simple. We are the ones who make it so complicated. Our purpose in life is simply to love and experience joy in all its perspectives. We should always strive to do what makes us feel happy. There is no set purpose for each of us. As we grow we make choices and decisions, and hopefully we choose what is best for us.

Some people spend their lives trying to figure out why we are here, and what our purpose is. Hopefully each of us will find what truly makes us happy, for that is the real goal in life. Each one of us is a unique individual who has different interests, preferences, and goals. There is no right or wrong answer. There isn't a career or goal that is better than another. We all need each other for the world to go round. And that is why diversity is so important. The central idea is to accept others for who they choose to be, and in turn love ourselves for who we are. Variety in life is what makes things exciting.

There are so many different people who all have different dreams. But everything comes down to one central idea, which simply is the idea that 'the journey is the destination.' This reminds us to enjoy all the simple things in our lives, day in and day out. We shouldn't rush through life focusing so hard to be at a certain point. Each goal, and each step of the way is part of our experience. Some people are so focused on being somewhere else in life, that they miss out on many things right in front of them. I want a better car, a better career, a bigger house...etc. There is always something more, always another want. We will never stop wanting something new. We will always have a new goal. Once we grasp this, I think that we can slow down a bit and realize that we are just fine as we are. Yes, some of those other things would be nice, but when we realize we don't need it to be happy then we are in better place. Everything we want is possible if we believe, but patience is the key. It will come to us, one step at a time.

The journey is the destination. Appreciate where you are in life. There are so many reasons to be thankful. Enjoy each and every step in life. We will get there. Just be patient, and trust that life has its way of working things out. Enjoy your life journey.

Focus. What is your focus? What are you thinking about? The Law of Attraction is very simple. It specifically relates to our thoughts, which are classified into two categories, which are either positive or negative. We either feel good about what we are thinking or we feel bad. The Law of Attraction states that which is like unto itself, is drawn. Simply stated it means that we will attract similar things into our lives according to what we are thinking.

When we think good thoughts we are attracting more good, and the same goes for negative thoughts. It doesn't matter if it is something we want or don't want. Whatever we are thinking we are attracting. This can be a scary idea when we think about some of our thoughts. But it is also a refreshing idea because when we realize we are in control of what we choose to think about then we will find change for the better in our lives. Scientists have been able to prove that our thoughts give off a frequency, similar to that like a radio. They have also shown that positive thoughts are ten times as powerful as a negative thought. So this means that we do not necessarily need to freak out when we catch ourselves thinking something negative. It just means that when we catch ourselves, as soon as possible we need to change and replace our thoughts with something positive. We want to attract only good in our lives.

Sometimes the hardest part is getting our minds away from the negative. We are taught by society to worry and think about all the negative possibilities. Instead, we must focus only on the positive when it is possible. One of the best ideas to remember is that any sort of focus activates the Law of Attraction. When we are focused on something then we are telling the Universe we want more of that, good or bad.  When you put your attention on anything then it is drawing it closer to you. So the more we focus and get upset about something, the more bad we are attracting. When it's all we can think about then we are asking for more of it. You must get your mind off of what you don't want and focus on what you do want. And most all we must believe that everything has its way of working out. Situations are only temporary. Things happen for a reason. We are who we are today because of our life choices and circumstances.

Believe what you want to believe. I don't believe in coincidence. I believe in science. I believe in energy and frequencies. And I believe we have the power to create our own world. Change your attitude and you will change your world.

Growth Seeking

"I am a growth seeking being, and it is exhilarating to remember that expansion
is not only natural but inevitable. I love knowing that joy is a simple choice.
So since my expansion is inevitable, I choose to have all of it, in joy."

-Jerry & Esther Hicks

I don't need five star reservations
I got spaghetti and a cheap bottle of wine
I don't need no concert in the city
I got a stereo and the 'Best of Patsy Cline'

Ain't got no caviar, no Dom Peignoir
But as far as I can see I got everything I want

'Cause I got a roof over my head
The woman I love layin' in my bed
And it's alright, alright

I got shoes under my feet
Forever in the eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright

Yeah, I got all I need
And it's alright by me

Maybe later on we'll walk down to the river
Lay on a blanket and stare up at the moon
It may not be no French Riviera
But it's all the same to me as long as I'm with you

May be a simple life but that's okay, yeah
If you ask me baby I think I got it made

'Cause I got a roof over my head
The woman I love layin' in my bed
And it's alright, alright

I got shoes under my feet
Forever in the eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright

Yeah, I got all I need
And it's alright by me
It's alright by me, yeah, yeah

When I lay down at night I thank the lord above
For giving me everything I ever could dream of

'Cause I got a roof over my head
The woman I love layin' in my bed
And it's alright, alright, alright, alright

I got shoes under my feet
Forever in the eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright, alright

Yeah, I got all I need, yeah, I got all I need
And it's alright by me, oh yeah
It's alright by me, yeah, yeah, yeah

Happiness is Like a Butterfly

"Happiness is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder."

-Henry David Thoreau

People are always looking for reasons to be happy. They look toward others to fulfill themselves, and they strive for more and more material objects. Although it is obvious that yes, some of these things can contribute to happiness, the most important thing to realize is how to be happy without those things. We must first be content with ourselves and find happiness just from being.

Each and every day should be looked upon as a blessing. We may not always have a good day, but that is when we must realize that situations are only temporary. A lot of our troubles come from our own attitudes too. When we are being pessimistic then it is easy to continue on that path and find many things to be negative. We must change our outlook and remember what is important. Some people are not happy unless they have the newest and latest clothes, electronics, cars, and so forth. Some people depend on money and materialist objects to keep them happy. Sometimes people will even use objects or others as their center of attention to keep them busy with life, and almost distracted from what they are really dealing with. We must first be content with ourselves. We must love and respect ourselves before anyone else will. And importantly, we need to be comfortable with ourselves. We should be happy and confident even when we are alone. Because in reality we are our own person, and we should have enough self-assurance to know that we are just fine, the way we are. We don't need a boyfriend or girlfriend to make us feel complete. We don't need our friends to make us feel better. Sure, those are wonderful people in which we should love and appreciate, but we shouldn't depend on them to feel happy. First we must be happy with ourselves on our own, and no person or object can give that to us.

The more we focus on what we want to be happy, the more we are realizing that we don't have what we want. So instead of thinking about the things you want. Start thinking about all the things that you do have. The things that you used to think would make you happy. Instead of going from thing to thing, person to person, focus on your own inner happiness. Tell yourself that you are content and happy just the way you are. Stop thinking about the things you want all the time. Good things are bound to happen and come our way when we are least expecting it, just like the butterfly sitting on your shoulder. When you stop chasing it, it will come to you. Focus on what is really important.

Peace Within

"Today may there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us."
